AN IRISH national was accused of threatening a policeman who responded to a vehicular accident involving the foreigner in uptown Cebu City last Wednesday afternoon.

Mcbride Niall  of Talisay City allegedly threatened to kill SPO1 Dionillo Galo.

Police said the Toyota Celerio that Niall drove hit the rear of a Mitsubishi Adventure parked in front of a bank on F. Ramos Street.

Galo, a traffic investigator of the Cebu City Traffic Office (CCTO), arrived in the area to investigate.

Galo said that while he was checking the incident, Niall argued with him.

The foreigner allegedly told the policeman: “You’re an idiot and I don’t respect police officers. I will kill you”.

Niall was eventually arrested. He was released yesterday when officials from the Irish embassy went to the police station and apologized for the incident.
