Three-day weekend set for Undas 2026
CEBU CITY, Philippines — Filipinos will have a three-day weekend for Undas from October 31 to November 2, 2026, with All Saints’ Day falling on Sunday and All Souls’ Day on Monday.
The three-day stretch covers Saturday, Oct. 31, Sunday, Nov. 1, and Monday, Nov. 2, giving workers and families an extended period for cemetery visits, family gatherings, and travel.
Under Proclamation No. 1006, series of 2025, signed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Nov. 1 is a special non-working day for All Saints’ Day, while Nov. 2 is an additional special non-working day for All Souls’ Day.

The proclamation specifically cited the need to provide more time for traditional All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day activities and to promote domestic tourism.
October 31, meanwhile, is not a declared holiday. It falls on a Saturday, which may serve as the regular rest day for some employees depending on their work schedules.

What workers should know
For private-sector employees, the pay rules for Nov. 1 and Nov. 2 follow the rules for special non-working days, according to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
Workers who do not report for work generally receive no pay, unless their company policy, established practice or collective bargaining agreement provides otherwise.
Employees who work on either special non-working day should receive 130% of their basic daily wage for the first eight hours.
For work beyond eight hours, or overtime, the employee receives an additional 30% of the hourly rate on that special day.
If the special non-working day also falls on the employee’s scheduled rest day, work during the first eight hours earns 150% of the basic daily wage.
Overtime work on a special non-working day that also falls on a rest day carries an additional 30% of the hourly rate based on the applicable rest-day rate.
The distinction matters because Nov. 1 and Nov. 2 are not regular holidays. Regular holidays carry different pay rules, including 100% holiday pay for qualified employees who do not work and 200% pay for work during the first eight hours.
Three days, but only two holidays
The long weekend therefore comes from the combination of an ordinary Saturday and two declared special non-working days.

Workers should still check their company schedules, employment contracts, or CBAs, particularly because Oct. 31 does not carry a nationwide holiday classification.
The government’s 2026 holiday calendar also lists Nov. 30, Bonifacio Day, as the next regular holiday after Undas.
