The regional police confiscated at least P500,000 worth of illegal firecrackers during the holidays last month.
The bulk came from Lapu-Lapu City where local police confiscated more than P100,000 worth of firecrackers including piccolo and whistle bombs, said .Senior Supt. Rey Lyndon Lawas of the Police Regional Office 7.
The others were from vendors selling firecrackers without permits outside designated areas.
“This should be a lesson to those who sell firecrackers; they should follow rules and regulations,” Lawas said.
