From the singsong carols down to a mountain of presents, Christmas is surely the most wonderful time of the year for kids and even for the kids-at-heart. Undoubtedly, every child’s joyful smiles can warm the celebration of the yuletide spirit, for after all, an infant born in a manger is widely believed as the source of the festivity.
Last December 2015, Chong Hua Hospital (CHH) exalted the focal characters of Christmas as it took its annual tradition of throwing a party for its patient to a whole new level. Inspired by the League of Superheroes, CHH’s Building D Atrium transformed as a festive headquarter of the nurses-turned-superheroes as it treated its Pediatric patients and a number of outpatients to a chance of meeting and greeting their all-time favorite heroes.
Singing out the classic Christmas anthems, CHH’s glee club kicked off the event. Attendees were put in awe with the magic show and an informative puppet presentation that highlighted the importance of healthy diet and nutrition. At the end of the shows, children in the Nice List got their well-deserved gifts from the famous Man in the Red Coat.
Additionally, Christmas staples for kids, like sweet goodies, were freely given to the attendees that satisfied their yuletide cravings.
The Gift Giving initiative is part of Chong Hua Hospital’s mission of being a patient-focused healthcare service provider that tailors its services based on a customer’s personal needs. [Jellmar F. Cabrera, Intern USJ-R AB LIACOM ]
