Two arrested in Carcar City anti-drugs raid

Police arrested late this afternoon two men who are said to be peddling illegal drugs in Carcar City located 29 kilometers south of Cebu City.

Tereso Bacon and John Mark Bolasco are now detained pending the filing of charges against them but their companion who was identified only as a certain “Banong” eluded arrest.

Senior Insp. Henrix Bancoleta, team leader of the raiding team from the Anti-Illegal Drugs and Special Operations Task Group (RAIDSOTG) in Central Visayas, said they recovered 29 small and five medium packs of shabu, marked money and cash amounting to P1,300 believe to be proceeds from the suspects rented room.

Estimated weight of drugs recovered is thirty grams with estimated to be worth P354,000.

The two, he said, are able to dispose at least 200 grams of shabu per week. Bancoleta said Bacong and Bolasco are classified as level two drug pushers who have been involved in the city’s illegal drugs trade for more than a year already.

The police team raided the suspects rented house in Sitio Kamonggay, Barangay Poblacion 3 in Carcar City at 5:40 p.m. Friday after placing them under surveillance for one week.

Bancoleta said an informant tipped them of Bacong and Bolasco’s involvement in the illegal drugs trade.

The suspects and the recovered evidence were brought to office for proper disposition.
