FILIPINA beauty queen and reigning Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach returned to Manila on Saturday to attend talks for the possible hosting of Miss Universe 2017 pageant in the country.

A Facebook post by airport reporter Raoul Esperas stated that Pia arrived on Saturday to meet with President Rodrigo Duterte and the current tourism secretary and discuss the possibility of holding the prestigious pageant in the Philippines.

“Ms. Universe Pia Wurtzbach back in Manila for Meeting with President Duterte & Tourism Sec. Wanda Tulfo Teo,” he wrote.

Prior to the posting, Pia posted a tweet last Friday, a day before she flew to the Philippines, giving away hints of their “talks” for the holding of Miss Universe Pageant next year.

“Fingers crossed! Hoping for the best.. Please Lord!” Pia wrote.

Jonas Gaffud of Aces and Queens, her former pageant trainor, also posted a photo with Pia, welcoming her back to the country.

On Jonas’ Instagram, he also posted five photos to sum up the meeting of Pia with President Duterte and DOT Sec. Teo on Monday afternoon.

On the first photo, Pia was wearing a white cocktail dress with DOT Sec. Teo and later changed into a pink elegant off-shoulder jumpsuit to meet with the president.

The Filipina beauty queen and President Duterte had even taken a photograph while they both posed for a “selfie.”

On Thursday, DOT Secretary Teo confirmed that President Duterte already approved the proposal in holding the international pageant in the Philippines next year.

The last time the country hosted the prestigious beauty pageant was in 1994 or 22 years ago. Sushmita Sen of India won that year.
