A month long give back project was launched by Radisson Blu Cebu as part of its Responsible Business initiative during the hotel’s annual Christmas tree lighting last November 10.
A series of activities will be conducted in partnership with various organizations such as a book and toy donation to the Pediatric Ward of Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center together with the Basadours, a volunteer group of storytellers and reading advocates; culinary activity for the young girls of My Refuge House, an aftercare shelter for rescued survivors of sexual abuse, exploitation and trafficking; and providing dog shelter and food for rescued animals of the Island Rescue Organization (IRO).
To kick-off the campaign, the hotel matched the number of attendees of the Christmas tree lighting ceremony with a corresponding pair of slippers.
The evening ended with over 300 pairs of slippers to be donated to the students of Alpaco and Mainit Elementary School in Naga City.
The hotel’s goal is to be able to share 1,000 pairs of slippers.
A Giving Corner is set up at the hotel lobby adorned with a READ bookshelf and a Slipper of Hope tree where guests can share books and toys.
Hotel guests can contribute to the cause and donate a pair of slippers by availing the Signature Afternoon High Tea at the Dilmah t-Bar or by purchasing a gingerbread house.
