From what started as a pursuit to help the Philippines supply its own food, the organization’s creative minds are fueled by the dream of securing and sustaining pork and egg production nationwide. Slowly realizing that dream, Excelsior Farms Inc. (EFI) now supplies fresh and superior quality pork to different parts of the country and fresh farm eggs to Cebu.
We continue to innovate with our existing products to help our country populate the pigs. With the use of technology, we are able to monitor real-time our farm buildings and facilities, and the health status of our pigs inside the building.

President, Excelsior Farms Inc.
Drawn by the vision of becoming the premier swine farm in the Philippines, EFI employs innovative methods to populate pigs and ensure excellent breeding quality.
The Team started nine years ago, traveling to top agricultural countries to gain knowledge in modern farming which the company’s research team teaches to the people at Excelsior Farms Inc.
Considered the top modern farm in the country and the biggest nucleus breeder farm of the Pig Improvement Company (PIC) Philippines Inc., Excelsior Farms supplies pork to supermarkets and wet markets nationwide.
The 20-hectare farm is located in Barangay Sacsac, Pinamungajan, Cebu. It features state-of-the-art farming equipment from top agricultural countries like the U.S., Canada, and Germany.
“We continue to innovate with our existing products to help our country populate the pigs. With the use of technology, we are able to monitor real-time our farm buildings and facilities, and the health status of our pigs inside the building,” said Excelsior Farms Inc. President Alvin Hing.
“We have automatic feeders and waterers, so the pigs get fed regularly. We also have a climate control system. The temperature is around 24-25 degrees Celsius. It’s like going inside a mall,” Hing added.
Apart from this, the farm building is engineered with 280 km wind speed which spared them from the crisis brought about by typhoon Odette in 2021.
Owing the farm’s success to his people, Hing stressed the importance of valuing employees.
“It’s not the multimillion plan, farm or pigs, it’s always the people leading to the success of this company.” Hing said.
“We make sure to treat our people fairly and with respect, and develop our people with knowledge. We continue to hone them to become a better farmer.” Hing added.
With a growing workforce of 500 people and counting, the company sets its mission of producing superior quality food to the country through spirituality, teamwork, integrity, nurturing people and excellence.
“Spirituality is also our top priority, we ensure that we walk the talk towards our people and consider it in all our decisions.”
From the success of the swine breeding farm, Hing expanded to providing clean and safe farmed eggs. Thus, EGGCelsior was born in 2017.
EGGCelsior Farms features fully-automated, climate controlled layer houses with automatic egg collection systems that lead to an egg sorting machine through a conveyor.
The technology ensures the best and fast handling of eggs. The eggs also go through strict parameters to guarantee fresh and clean eggs free from cracks, impurities and contamination.
EGGCelsior’s farm facility is in Argao, Cebu. They also have 30 stores in Cebu, and supply to supermarkets, bakeshops, restaurants and hotels in the province.
As Excelsior and EGGcelsior farms continue to innovate, both companies make efforts to care for the environment as well. They have recently invested in a 1-megawatt solar power system to reduce carbon footprint and offset energy costs in both their farm facilities and corporate office.
According to their solar supplier, Invenic Inc., one megawatt of solar power avoids a total of 56 thousand kilograms of carbon dioxide.
