MANDAUE CITY, Cebu — He never learned his lesson.

A motorcycle rider who went viral in April for performing a dangerous stunt on the Tabunok flyover in Talisay City has once again found himself at the center of controversy after being involved in a road crash that happened last May 31.

Following the incident, the City of Talisay Traffic Operations and Development Authority (CT-TODA) impounded his motorcycle.

CT-TODA head Joy Tumulak is also pushing for the revocation of the rider’s driver’s license.

“Bisan gisuspenso na ang iyang lisensya sa LTO, ang CT-TODA mirekomendar nga ipa REVOKE ang lisensya,” CT-TODA said in an advisory on Friday.

(Even if his license was already suspended by the LTO, CT-TODA is making a recommendation to have said license revoked.)

In April, CT-TODA sought the help of netizens in locating a driver who was caught performing stunts while traversing the Tabunok flyover.

After the driver, a resident of Minglanilla town, was identified, CT-TODA filed a complaint against him with the Land Transportation Office (LTO), which eventually ordered the suspension of his driver’s license.

The driver issued a voluntary public apology and made a commitment not to commit the same mistake in the future.

But he never kept his promise.

“Bisan og wa nay lisensya sa pagmaneho, padayon nga nagmaniho sa iyang motor, hangtud naglambigit ug disgrasya sa Talisay,” CT-TODA said.

(Despite having no driver’s license, he continued driving his motorcycle until he was involved in an accident in Talisay City.)

Settlement reached

In its advisory, CT-TODA said the motorcycle driver allegedly hit the rear-ended a Suzuki van in the vicinity of Barangay Lawaan II.

Although the motorcycle driver reportedly reached a settlement with the van driver, CT-TODA immediately impounded his motorcycle.

Tumulak also filed a complaint against the motorcycle driver, seeking the revocation of his driver’s license.

In a letter dated June 5 addressed to LTO-7 Director Wendel Dinglasa, Tumulak requested the perpetual revocation of his driver’s license, citing his arrogance, disrespectful behavior, and continued recklessness as a driver.
