ALDUB has become a household name to a great number of Filipinos around the world, when the split screen romance of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza was discovered by accident in “Eat Bulaga.”
Behind the phenomenal love team’s success are the millions of fans that comprise the AlDub Nation fandom, who have became a witness to the onscreen romance of the Kalyeserye darlings, eversince the pairing was created on July 16, 2015, during the Problem Solving segment of the noontime show’s “Juan for All, All for One” episode.
With the fans’ support, every episode of Eat Bulaga’s Kalyeserye (Monday to Saturday) has trended on Twitter, with at least a million of tweets posted everyday.
Earlier yesterday, marking the first year of the fandom’s daily 1 million tweets, the hashtag #Happy1year1millionADN trended on the number 1 spot along with #MaineinLA.
Alden expressed his gratitude towards fans who have been with them since day one.
“Always count your blessings, thank you for everything ALDUBNATION,” Alden said using the hashtag.
Maine also commended the efforts of AlDub Nation.
“Wow this is amazing! Galing, ADN!,” she tweeted where she attached a report from PH Social Media Stat showing the tweet counts of Aldub Nation from August 21, 2015 to August 20 of this year.
Meanwhile, Maine reached another milestone in her career after earning four million Twitter followers in just nine months.
The Dubsmash Queen, who is currently in the States with her sister, Coleen and other “Eat Bulaga” colleagues, expressed her gratitude via the tweet: “4M!!! Thank you all!!”
It only took nine months for Maine to earn a phenomenal number of 3 million followers on Twitter, adding to her one million followers as of September last year. On Instagram, she has 2.5 million followers while her Facebook account has more than 1.2 million likes as of 4 p.m. last Sunday.
A video via Periscope showed Maine being greeted warmly by fans upon her arrival at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) Saturday night, with supporters waiting for about 12 hours just to see her. The phenomenal star granted requests for photo opportunities and signed autographs for her fans based in L.A.
Maine and companions watched a concert by British singer Adele yesterday and will also watch the British rock band Coldplay, as well.
