It’s Flyboys vs Elevens for division 3 title
THE DEFENDING champions 2008 Flyboys and last year’s runners-up 2011 Elevens will clash once again for the title in Division 3 of the 2016 University of San Carlos North Alumni Basketball Conference President’s Cup as they overcame their respective opponents in the semifinals on Saturday at the USC North Campus gym.
The Flyboys outlasted the 2006 Fury, 81-75, behind the awesome twosome scoring punch of John Cabellon and Nico Magat, who scored 24 and 20 points, respectively.
Francis Omolon also provided key numbers as he pitched in 15 markers to help fight off Fury, who leaned on their own explosive scoring trio of Justin delos Reyes, Giovanni Padillo and Jig Paul Morales.
Delos Reyes had 26, Padillo added 21 while Morales tallied 16 for the ousted Fury.
In the other semis pairing, the Elevens gave themselves another chance to avenge their heartbreaking defeat at the hands of the Flyboys in the last tournament after beating the 2015 Samurais, 59-47.
