San Roque bags seniors crown in Talisay cagefest

SAN ROQUE nipped Cansojong, 85-78, to capture the seniors division title of the Talisay City Mayor’s Cup 2016 Inter-Barangay Basketball Tournament last Sunday at the Talisay City Sports Complex.

James Eldrige Denora led San Roque with 19 points, while Daryl Gabaca added 17.

Gabaca went on to win the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award. He and Denora composed the Mythical Five along with John Cle Molero and Jessie Aloro Jr.

Molero paced the losing team with 29 points and was backed by Aloro, who had 14.

In the other game, Biasong prevailed over Bulacao, 103-97, to finish third.

Nilrose Obeso led Biasong with 29 markers. Joel Bensig Jr. chipped in 23.

Kyle Edwin Valmora had 30 points for Bulacao.
