30K passengers passed thru Cebu port: Coast Guard
AT least 30,000 passengers have passed through the Cebu International Port from Oct. 28-31, the highest registered by the Philippine Coast Guard-Cebu station so far.
Agapito Bibat, Philippine Coast Guard Cebu station commander, said while the volume of passengers is larger than usual, there were no recorded incidents of violence, confiscated illegal items and missing children.
“There are complaints coming from passengers and that’s expected it. But thank God we managed them smoothly and they were all resolved in time,” Bibat said.
As of 1 am Wednesday, PCG Cebu’s duty operations officer Aprentisimo Alcansas said their head count of passengers returning to Cebu reached to 10,077.
“It’s (today) already back to work. Most of them came from Bohol and Leyte,” Alcansas said.
