Cebu City Hall will only give the financial assistance and housing materials to fire victims in Barangay Apas if they will use it in their designated relocation site at Barangay Kalunasan.

The Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CCDRRMO) head Nagiel Bañacia said this is to make sure that the affected families won’t use the money and materials to rebuild within the fire site.

Bañacia and other Cebu City Hall officials met with Capitol officials on Thursday morning.

During the meeting, both partied agreed that the fire site will be cleared although it’s not yet final as to when since some residents requested that it be done by March after classes end.

Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) head Baltazar Tribunalo Jr. said though that they will provide temporary tents in the fire site for those who have no other place to stay as of yet.
