The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA-7) is the top regional office among all the regions in the country for the first quarter of the year.

PDEA Director General Isidro Lapeña cited PDEA-7 Director Yogi Ruiz for maintaining the regional office’s standing since the last quarter of the year.

Lapeña said during PDEA’s 15th anniversary celebrations last Saturday that PDEA-7 has the most accomplishments in terms of arrest, illegal drugs seized and barangays being helped to be drug-free during the last quarter of 2016 and the first quarter of the year.

Lapeña also said that the government is winning in the war against illegal drugs citing 1.3-million surrenderers, which translates to a 33 percent of reduction of demand from the 4 million drug users claimed by the government at the start of their campaign.
