Tanods told to reconcile reports, time records
Cebu City barangay tanods are now required to each submit accomplishment reports due to the inconsistency of their Daily Time Record (DTR) and their actual duty hours.
Gary Lao, who heads the Cebu City Office of the Substance Abuse and Prevention (COSAP), said some barangay tanods falsified their submitted DTRs.
“Some barangay tanods, they write 8:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m. in their DTRs but when we confirm it, they are not there from 8 am -5 p.m.,” Lao said in Cebuano. Lao said some reports were copy-pasted from previous accomplishment reports.
COSAP will also look into the tanods whose allowances were suspended due to failure to submit their reports on time. These tanods were assigned in barangays Sambag Uno, Ermita, Kareta and Lahug.
Lao said their office will still assess if additional honorarium will still be given to the barangay tanods of Taptap and Bonbon this year for their performance in the city’s anti-illegal drug campaign.
