CEBUANA rapper, songwriter and online sensation Karen Ann Cabrera, more popularly known as Karencitta, has been nominated for the MYX Music Awards 2018.
MYX Philippines on Wednesday announced on its Instagram account that Karencitta is nominated for Music Video of the Year and Best New Artist of the Year.
For Music Video of the Year, Karencitta is nominated for her song, “Cebuana” along with The Life (James Reid), Sa’yo Pa Rin (Glaiza de Castro), C@ll (Bamboo), and Sarah Geronimo (Misteryo).
Her song “Cebuana” was released in 2017 and topped Spotify Philippines in November of the same year.
Her music video also became viral with one million views less than 24 hours after it was released online.
Afrer her music video became a popular hit, Karencitta signed with Viva Artist Agency in January.
For the Best New Artist of the Year, Karencitta is nominated along with IV of Spades, Leanne and Naara, Sassa, and Volts Vallejo.
Karencitta, on her Instagram account, asked her fans and followers to vote for her.
“Please vote for me everyday as #MYXMusicAwards2018 Best New Artist of the Year and Music Video of the Year. Hope to see you at the Araneta Colisuem on May 15,” she said.
MYX Philippines also announced that netizens can vote once per category everyday.
Online voting will end at 11:59 p.m of May 8.
