‘Lumen’s twins’ make a comeback

Charisse Hermosa play antagonists in GMA Network’s upcoming series, “Inday Will Always Love You”

PEOPLE first loved them as Lumen’s twins in the popular Surf commercials from the late 1990s to early 2000s.

Today, Charlotte and Charisse Hermoso are back the limelight, this time for GMA’s upcoming series titled, “Inday Will Always Love You.” Headlined by Barbie Forteza and Derrick Monasterio, the series is being shot in Cebu and is produced by GMA News and Public Affairs.

“Ibang side po makikita niyo sa amin kasi mas kilala po kami noon as Lumen’s twins. Makikita nila po na pwede po pala kami maging artista,” Charlotte said during the press con held last Saturday at Salinas restaurant in Lahug, Cebu City.

The 19-year-old twins play Kisses (Charlotte) and Hershey (Charisse), the antagonists in the series.

They are allies of Kim Rodriguez’s character, Erica who will make Happylou’s (Forteza) life miserable.

Charisse said their costars helped them portray their characters, especially that this is the first time she and her twin are playing kontrabida.

“Mahirap,” both said, when asked about their roles. Between the two, it was Charlotte who already experienced being part of a TV series. She played a supporting role to Marian Rivera in GMA Network’s 2008 version of “Dyesebel.”

“Minsan sinasabihan kami na artehan mo pa. Natuto kami sa ibang artists din sa set at nag guide sa amin para sa character namin,” Charisse said.

Before the project was offered to Hermoso twins, they thought that there would be no chance for a television comeback for them.

“Nalulungkot po kami kasi walang break na binibigay sa amin. Baka di talaga kami bagay mag-artista,” Charlotte said.

But in November 2017, the program “Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho” hosted by veteran anchor Jessica Soho aired a feature story about the Hermoso twins.

And that’s when everyone took notice of them again.

“Dumating po ang KMJS at pinakita po kami sa mga tao. Na appreciate po kami ng mga tao. ‘Yung researcher po nila nag find ng way na ma contact kami,” Charlotte said.

At present, Charlotte is taking up Mass Communication while Charisse is studying Hotel Resource Management at the University of Perpetual Help in Las Piñas. Both are in their third year in college.

They are hoping that “Inday Will Always Love You,” which is set to air soon, will open more opportunities for them in showbiz.
