LAPU-LAPU City’s Risk Reduction Management Office (LRRMO) recently acquired hydraulic cutting equipment worth P4 million.

The equipment included a hydraulic jack, hydraulic metal separator and a hydraulic steel or pipe cutter.

Andy Berame, the city’s local disaster office head, said that the equipment are very crucial when it comes to rescuing a person trapped inside a vehicle after a collision.

This can also cut pipes or steel bars while another piece of hydraulic equipment can brace or lift metals or beams whenever needed in a rescue.

“Importante kaayo ni sa atong mga rescue operations aron maka salbar pa ta og dugang mga kinabuhi (This is very important in our rescue operations to save more lives),” said Berame.
