Guiseppe, DBUFC win Aboitiz Football titles

GIUSEPPE FC brought home the Under 15 Girls title with a 1-0 edging of the St. Theresa’s College (STC) in the Under 15 Girls category while the Don Bosco United Football Club (DBUFC) bagged the 45 Above title also with a 1-0 outsmarting of the KN Ferraren in the 19th Aboitiz Football Cup last Sunday.

The U15 Girls championship was held at the Don Bosco Magone pitch in Punta Princesa while the 45 Above finals was played at the Cebu City Sports Center.

Pinky Soco scored the winning goal for Giuseppe and was named as the Most Valuable Player (MVP). She was also given the Golden Boot award.

Two of Soco’s teammates also bagged special awards with Dominique Nicole Badinas named as Best Defender and Melyn Nadera as Best Goalkeeper.

In the 45 Above category, DBUFC’s lone goal was scored by Job Gica who was not only named as the MVP but also the Golden Boot awardee for amassing a total of five goals in the entire tournament.

Other DBUFC booters who got special awards were Noriyuki Yamaguchi as Best Midfielder and Tommy Kim as Best Defender.

The Best Goalkeeper award went to KN Ferraren’s Larry Chew.
