THE Capitol is holding a search for first Renaissance Cebuana who will also become an ambassadress of the Provincial Women’s Commission (PWC).
Cebu Vice Governor Agnes Magpale, who chairs the PWC, said candidates must be at least 18 to 30 years old and a resident of Cebu for at least one year.
She said the candidates will undergo three stages of elimination, which include joining the marathon, quiz bee and showcasing of talents.
“A real Cebuana should be an embodiment of everything, not only her body and face,” Magpale said.
The first round, which is the Cebuana Sports Marathon, requires candidates to run for the 5-kilometer or 10-kilometer race category.
Corresponding points will be given to all the run finishers, with the fastest getting the highest points.
For the second elimination round, candidates will undergo a quiz bee challenge.
Candidates who will advance to the final round will be given the opportunity to showcase their talents.
Based on the mechanics, the scores accumulated from every challenge will be totaled and the candidate with the highest score will be hailed as the first Renaissance Cebuana with a cash prize of P100,000.
Aside from that, she will become the ambassadress of PWC and get a chance to travel abroad.
The search by the Cebu Provincial government is in cooperation with PWC, Cebu Provincial Sports Commission (PSC), Ng Khai Development Corporation and the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Interested participants may register at the office of PWC or PSC at the Capitol or at any NGenius Store in malls.
The deadline of application is on April 27.
