Settlers secure three-day reprieve from demolition

The 81 structures in Arellano Boulevard, Cebu City that were scheduled for demolition secured a three-day reprieve courtesy of a restraining order from Branch 18 of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) in Cebu City.

The settlers through their lawyer Vincent Isles have until Thursday this week to build their case after the Cebu City Prevention Restoration Orderly Beautification and Enhancement (Probe) team scheduled the demolition last July 10.

But Mayor Tomas Osmeña deferred the demolition after heeding a request from the settlers for a dialogue.
