Mabolo cops probed for shooting near police station, mall
POLICEMEN assigned at the Mabolo Police Station of the Cebu City Police Office are under investigation because of the shooting incident that happened less than 50 meters away from their post Friday afternoon.
Senior Supt. Noli Romana, Cebu City Police Office director, said station commander Chief Insp. Ryan Devaras was directed to explain why his men failed to immediately respond when gunfire broke out along A Soriano Street, near the entrance of SM City Cebu.
The victim Felix Lungit, a water vendor, is recuperating in a private hospital.
Romana said he will ask Devaras to present the deployment plan of his beat patrols. Devaras earlier said that the attack happened when SPO3 Candelario Mausesa, who covers the area, left his post.
