FOR Princess Joesel Bajamonde, Binibining Cebu 2018 gives her the opportunity to meet new people, create friendship, and give love.
Bajamonde represents the town of Dalaguete.

The town’s name originates from the “dalakit” tree, which harbors spirits.

Dalaguete is called “Vegetable Basket of Cebu.” It celebrates the Utanon Festival every February.

“Since Dalaguete is the vegetable basket in Cebu, I definitely believe we are health conscious because we promote the vegetable industry and give emphasis on vegetable farming as a sustainable source of livelihood,” she said.

The town is also popular for its delicacies like podrida, a cookie with jackfruit jam filling. Other delicacies are torta, bibingka, banana melt, and tostado.

For tourist attractions, the town has Kadungaw Peak, Casino Peak, Sergio’s Strawberry Farm, Obong Spring, Kalubyaw Cave, and Sunflower garden.

SHE envisions herself as the next Binibining Cebu.

Angeli Christine Navarro is one of the newbies in this year’s pageant.

“This being my first ever pageant experience makes me want to do more for it is such a great honor and a blessing to be part of this grand event. I always make it sure that with every thing that I do. I’ll do best because I believe that experience is not the best teacher but you yourself,” she said.

Navarro is the pride of Aloguinsan which she calls the “Ecotourism Capital of Cebu.”

“I’m very proud for we are the only municipality in the Philippines that has been awarded and is consistent in becoming part of the top 100 suitable tourism destinations in the world because of its natural beauty,” she said.

Aloguinsan is known for its Bojo river cruise. The town celebrates Kinsan Festival every June which promotes kinsan, a kind of fish which is abundant in the town.
