Alden Richards leads PMPC Star Awards for Music Awardees

ALDEN Richards got the most number of awards at the joint Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Star Awards for Music for 2017 and 2018 held at the Newport Performing Arts Theatre in Resorts World Manila last September 9.

The 26-year-old actor/recording artist won three awards: Album of the Year (2017), Pop Album of the Year (2017), and Male Pop Artist of the Year (2017).

Richards, who was unable to attend the awards night, posted an Instagram story of his three awards and thanked the PMPC.

Martin Nievera was named Male Artist of the Year for 2017 while Christian Bautista bagged the same award for 2018.

Nievera, in Instagram account, thanked the people behind the PMPC Star Awards for Music.

“Congrats to ALL,” the 56-year-old performer said.

Bautista also thanked PMPC Star Awards through an Instagram post.

“Requiring an album requires a village of people to thank. I’m thankful to @universalrecordsph for partnering with me again as I ventured into co-writing and co-producing the ‘Kapit’ album,” part of his post reads.

Angeline Quinto was named Female Artist of the Year for 2017 while dela Torre got the same award for 2018.

Quinto and her fellow “Birit Queens” Klarisse De Guzman, Morisette Amon, and Jona won the Concert of the Year award (2017).

“Congratulations at maraming salamat po @asapofficial @stareventsph Family namin at sa lahat ng sumuporta sa Birit Queens. Para sa inyong lahat ito,” she said.

The Concert of the Year 2018 award went to Nievera, Erik Santos, Ogie Alcasid, and Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez for their concert, “Hashtag Pa More.”

The Male Pop Artist of the Year for 2018 award was shared by Viva artists James Reid and Xian Lim.

Julie Anne San Jose received the Female Pop Artist of the Year (2017) while Kim Chiu was hailed as Female Pop Artist of the Year (2018).
