SWU-Phinma rules Cesafi badminton

THE SOUTHWESTERN University (SWU) – Phinma Baby Cobras topped this season’s Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (Cesafi) Badminton Tournament held at the Metrosports Center in Lahug, Cebu City.

SWU-Phinma hauled six gold medals, four silvers and one bronze medal in the competition.

Winners for SWU-Phinma were Joel Barriga (Men’s Individual), Android Tingson (Women’s Individual), Carl Bejasa (Juniors Boys A Individual), Mike Marates (Juniors Boys B Individual), Wileyto Yray and Bien Aloysios (Juniors Boys Doubles), and the Boys’ Secondary Team.

University of San Carlos (USC) finished second with five golds, and two bronze medals.

Gold medalists for USC were Lesly Macato (Juniors Girls A Individual), Mitzi Montalvo (Juniors Girls B Individual), Leo Macapobre and Princess Murro (Secondary Mixed Doubles) and its Secondary Girls Team.

The University of Cebu (UC)-Main finished third with a 2-4-3 (gold-silver-bronze) haul.
