SWS survey: More Filipinos believe quality of life worsened
More Filipinos believe that the quality of their life has “worsened,” the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showed.
Based on the survey fielded from September 15-23, 2018, the SWS said 30 percent of respondents said “their quality of life worsened” while 28 percent said “their quality of life improved.”
Survey results released yesterday revealed a seven-point decline in net gainers score from a “high” +5 in June 2018 to a -2 in September 2018.
The SWS survey was conducted using face-to-face interviews of 1,500 adults, 18 years old and above, nationwide. The sample includes 600 in Balance Luzon, and 300 each in Metro Manila, Visayas, and Mindanao.
It has a sampling margin error of ±3 percent for national percentages while ±4 percent for Balance Luzon, and ±6 percent each for Metro Manila, Visayas, and Mindanao.
More Filipinos, however, remain hopeful that their quality of life will improve in the next 12 months, according to SWS.
The quality of life survey noted that 36 percent of adult Filipinos expect their personal quality of life to improve in the next 12 months while 9 percent expect it to get worse. This showed a 17-point decline in net personal optimists score from a +44 in June 2018 to a +27 in September 2018.
