TWO more Binibining Pilipinas queens are set to compete in their respective international pageants next month.
A send-off party was given to Binibining Pilipinas Universe 2018 Catriona Gray and Binibining Pilipinas Supranational 2018 Jehza Huelar on November 12 in Novotel Manila Araneta Center.
Binibining Pilipinas on its Instagram account shared a photo of Huelar and Gray with Stella Marquez Araneta, chairman of Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc.
“The Binibini Queens who will be competing this December with Binibining Pilipinas Chairperson Mrs. Stella Marquez Araneta,” the post reads.
The same Instagram account also confirmed that Miss Supranational 2018 will be held in Poland on December 7 while Miss Universe 2018 is slated on December 17 in Thailand.
Huelar shared a photo with Gray on her Instagram account on Monday.
“Our send-off party earlier! Are you ready #Philippines?” she said.
Miss Earth 2017 Karen Ibasco left a comment on her post and said, “God bless you, Jehza!”
Huelar also uploaded a photo with Miss Supranational 2013 Mutya Johanna Datul, the first Filipina to win the crown.
“After months of talking to each other online, finally, I get to meet the #Suprabeautiful Queen @mutyadatul. My first meeting with her was so funny! She cracked a joke and everybody in the room laughed, including Madam Stella Araneta,” she said.
Huelar also thanked Datul for the tips she shared and said she is looking forward to meeting her in Poland for the 10th year of Miss Supranational.
Datul, on the other hand, wished Huelar good luck.
“I wish you all the best baby girl! @jehzahuelar Ravan Pilipinas,” Datul said.
Last year, Binibining Pilipinas Supranational 2017 Chanel Olive Thomas finished in the top 10.
Meanwhile, Gray updated her fans on Monday by sharing two photos of her look during the send-off party.
“Can’t believe it’s the send-off already. Less than a month to go before MU,” Gray captioned her photos.
Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach cheered Gray on saying, “Ayan na siya!!”
Binibining Pilipinas Universe 2017 Rachel Peters and Miss Universe 2017 Top 10 finisher also commented on Gray’s photos.
“So excited for you,” Peters said.
The Philippines has three Miss Universe crowns, so far. Aside from Wurtzbach, Margarita Moran won the title in 1973 and Gloria Diaz in 1969.
