Drug peddler, 18, killed in a police shootout in Cebu City

An 18-year-old suspected drug peddler was killed in a buy hust operation past 8 p.m. on Saturday along F. Cabahug, Cebu City.

The fatality was identified as Rafael Arcipe from Barangay Tipolo, Mandaue City.

Arcipe sustained a gunshot wound on his upper body in an alleged shootout with the Cebu City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU).

SPO4 Raul Cosido, the CDEU team leader, said Arcipe was a newly identified drug personality in the city.

“Nag maintain na siyag drug den diha. Iyahang mga costumer mga construction worker dinhi dapita (He maintained a drug den in that area. His customers were the construction workers there),” said Cosido.

Police were able to recover from the suspect around 12 grams of suspected shabu (crystal meth) with an estimated value of P141,600 and a .38 caliber pistol.
