Struggling Cebu City Sharks lose anew

THE Cebu City Sharks-Casino Ethyl Alcohol continued to fall further away from the playoff picture as they suffered a 73-83 loss at the hands of the Navotas Clutch in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Datu Cup on Saturday night at the San Andres Sports Complex.

Adding insult to injury are rumblings of internal strife within the Sharks, which, after suffering its second loss in a row, is now at 6-11 (win-loss).

The team’s top gun, Patrick Cabahug, who curiously was not even listed on the active roster against the Clutch, vowed to bring his team together when they convene for practice today.

“It’s not over yet,” the Cebuano gunner shared.

William McAloney led the Sharks with 15 points while Gayford Rodriguez came off the bench and added 10. The team’s other ace, Rhaffy Octobre, struggled in his new position as a shooting forward, and managed just eight points on 3-of-9 shooting from the field.

Marlon Gomez paced the Clutch, which improved to 7-9, with 20 points.
