CEBU CITY, Philippines — Security officers should also coordinate with their counterparts in businesses near or beside them.

Garganera, the chairman of the Cebu City Police Advisory Council, said that security personnel from stores must not be confined solely into the business that hired them.

He said that a close bond between security guards of different businesses would help them respond in case there would be a need for police intervention.

“The security measures should not be only confined to a particular establishment. You should collaborate with the other businesses. If you hire security guards they should know each other,” said Garganera in an interview with CDN Digital.

Other than a close bond of security personnel, Garganera also cited the need for security personnel to find a way to easily contact police near the area of the business establishments.

He also cited the importance of CCTV cameras in the premises of the business establishments to deter criminals and could assist police in their investigation.
