Niños to compete in Guam Youth Games on May

The Cebu Niños have been tapped to represent the country in the basketball competition of the 2014 Guam Youth Games which will be held on May 7 in Guam, USA.

According to head coach Rommel Rasmo, who also happens to be the mentor of the multi-titled Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Magis Eagles, they were asked to form a team by International Basketball Academy director Eric Altamirano, through whom the invitation was coursed by Office of the Governor of Guam.

Composing the Cebu Niños who will be competing in the 16-under division are SHS-AdC stalwarts Renzo Calumpang, Michael Cutamora, Jed Colonia, Carlos Canoy, Hans Mesina, Gino Narvasa and Patrick Yu, the younger brother of current RP under-18 team captain, Dave Wilson Yu. Also on the team are Giles Benedicto and Deo Ong from PAREF-Springdale and

Alexander Sanchez from St. Louis Mandaue.

Representing the country in the 10-under class will be Cagayan de Oro while a team from NCR will be participating in the 12-under division. The IBA Greenies will be competing in the 14-under division.
