THE Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) yesterday said a low pressure area (LPA) was spotted near Eastern Samar yesterday late afternoon.
“Eastern Visayas will experience heavier rainfall unless the LPA weakens,” Pagasa Mactan Weather Station chief meteorological officer Alfredo Quiblat told Cebu Daily News.
The LPA was spotted 100km east of Guiuan as of 5 p.m.
The LPA was quasi-stationary which means that its movement was erratic. Quiblat said that the high pressure area is related to the northward migration of the Siberian wind./XAVIER UNIVERSITY Interns Kent A. Ugalde and Irish Maika R. Lam
