THE Supreme Court will reimburse the expenses incurred by Cebu City judges in setting up temporary courtrooms and offices at the Qimonda I.T. Center.

Supreme Court Administrator Midas Marquez said the judges just need to submit certifications of their expenses so the High Court can refund them.

“If you don’t have any receipts of what you bought, just let us know,” he told the judges.

“The chief justice has assured to pay everything that you have spent. Basta i-submit ninyo ha? (You just submit it),” Marquez said. One judge in Cebu City spent P30,000 to buy materials to construct partitions for his courtroom, office and storage room.

While space for courtrooms was provided at the ground floor of Qimonda I.T. Center, most judges decided to set up individual courtrooms so they can hold hearings anytime.

Each courtroom at the ground floor is assigned to at least two judges who have to wait for their schedule. Court employees in Cebu City are presently occupying the ground and second floors of Qimonda I.T. Center which serves as the city’s temporary courthouse.
