Two raids net P1 million worth of ‘shabu’, firearms
Packs of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P1 million were seized by law enforcers in separate operations in Cebu City and Carcar town, southern Cebu yesterday.
The subject of the operations were able to elude arrest.
Aside from suspected illegal drugs worth at least P500,000, several firearms were also seized from the house of Daryl Borj Saducas in barangay Liburan, Carcar.
Saducas’ house was raided by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas and operatives of the Carcar Police Station on the strength of a search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Wilfredo Fiel Navarro of Branch 19.
Supt. Teodolfo Manatad said the man’s house was built on a higher ground in sitio Baha-Baha that allowed him to see the arriving policemen.
“The raid was conducted after a month of surveillance,” said Manatad.
Seized from Saducas’ house were one big pack, eight medium-sized packs and two sachets believed to contain shabu.
A hand grenade, KG9 pistol, a .45 caliber pistol and .22 revolver were the other items seized from the house.
In barangay Pulangbato, Cebu City, police also seized suspected shabu worth P500,000 from the house of Ronald Tumulak.
The operation was conducted by operations of the City Intelligence Branch (CIB) of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO).
Police described Tumulak a level two drug pusher capable of selling 200 grams of shabu a week.
Supt. Romeo Santander, chief of CIB, said Tumulak had eluded several attempts to arrest him.
Senior Supt. Noli Romana, director of CCPO, said he tasked special units of CCPO to conduct anti-drug operations in Pulangbato since the Talamban police were ordered to focus on anti-criminality campaign.
In a separate operation, a 34-year-old man was arrested and packs of suspected shabu worth P50,000 were seized in a buy-bust operation in A. Lopez Street, barangay Calamba, Cebu City.
