Valentine's Day

Mandaue City policemen will be taking a closer look at the city’s dating areas especially those located in the mountain barangays to ensure no untoward incidents will happen on Valentine’s Day.

MANDAUE CITY, Philippines — The Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) will be deploying personnel to identified dating areas in the city to ensure the safety of people celebrating Valentine’s Day there.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Eloveo Marquez, deputy city director for administration of the Mandaue City Police Office, said the personnel that will be deployed on Monday, February 14, will also patrol motels among others.

Marquez said the dating areas in the city’s mountain area will be patrolled by personnel assigned at the Quarantine Control Point.

“Ang atoang kapulisan magsuroy-suroy through foot or mobile, mag patrol (para) safe ra gyud sila (mag celebrate sa Valentines),” said Marquez.

Marquez is also reminding the public to set their dates earlier because the city’s curfew which is from 11 p.m to 4 a.m is still in effect.

He said the fine for curfew violation is P1,000.

Marquez said because Valentine’s Day falls on a regular working day this year, the Police Community Relations have prepared gimmicks.     /rcg
