CEBU CITY, Philippines — Presidential candidate, Vice President Ma. Leonor “Leni” Robredo, will be in Cebu on Thursday, February 24, and she is expected to hold her first grand rally in the country’s most-vote rich province.
In a press release sent to local reporters, Robredo will be visiting Talisay City, Toledo City, Argao town, and Cebu City.
She and her running mate, Sen. Francis ‘Kiko’ Pangilinan, will be holding their grand rally in Southwestern University (SWU) in Urgello Street, Cebu City.
Robredo and Pangilinan are also expected to disclose the accomplishments they have made for Cebu as well as their plans for the island province should they be elected this May.
These included job-generating initiatives, supporting Cebu City’s business process outsourcing (BPO) industry, and developing eco-tourism projects.
Joining in Robredo and Pangilinan’s caravan this Thursday are former Chief Justice Hilario Davide Jr., his son and incumbent Vice Governor Hilario Davide III, and the slate of Bando Osmena Pundok Kauswagan (BOPK) led by former Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña and former Councilor Margot Osmeña, the latter whom will be running in the city’s mayoral race.
Davide and the BOPK have formally endorsed Robredo’s Presidential bid.
Visit in Cebu
Robredo’s first stop will be in Talisay City where she is set to meet with fisherfolks from Brgy. Tangke, and supporters from various sectors and groups in the city.
She will also be in Argao and Toledo City for the Argao People’s Rally and Toledo City People’s Rally.
National candidates who will also be attending Thursday’s grand rally in Cebu City included Senatorial aspirants Chel Diokno, Alex Lacson, Sonny Matula, and Sonny Trillanes. /rcg
