Historic Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway opens today

The engineering marvel and Cebu’s newest icon, Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX), will be finally inaugurated in an opening ceremony on Monday, April 27, 2022.

The opening of the 8.9-kilometer CCLEX will be led by President Rodrigo Duterte.

After four years, the bridge that links Cebu City in mainland Cebu to Cordova town on Mactan Island will finally be open to the public this month.

The Cebu Cordova Link Expressway Corporation (CCLEC), the builder of CCLEX, also announced that motorcycles with engine displacement below 400cc will be allowed to pass the expressway by July this year. This move is supported by a resolution passed by the CCLEX Bridge Management Board. 

Sidewalks for pedestrians and bikers will also be opened in July 2022.

Its partners in the industry celebrate this milestone with Cebu Cordova Link Expressway Corporation (CCLEC) and Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC).
