CEBU CITY, Philippines — A total of eight teams will be seen in action in the Cebu Rookie Flag Football Cup 2022 this weekend at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC).
The tournament organized by the Warriors Flag Football Club-Vibora Warriors will hold this tournament for the first time.
Leading the list of competing teams in the tournament is the Jaguars, who finished as the runners-up in the Cebu Flag Football League (CFFL) Comeback League 2022 last May.
Along with them are the Cebu Niños, Athletico, Hilas Pilipinas, Centaurs, Pirates, Giants, and Sinx.
According to one of the organizers, Miguel Callorina, they will divide the eight teams into two brackets.
Bracket A comprises of Hilas Pilipinas, Jaguars, Centaurs, and Giants, while Bracket B has Sinx, Pirates, Athleticos, and the Cebu Niños.
Each bracket will have a single round robin wherein the top two teams will advance to the crossover playoffs until they determine the remaining teams vying for the finals.
The opening match on Saturday features the Jaguars taking on Hilas Pilipinas at 8:00 AM, while the rest of the matches runs the entire day, with the last remaining match scheduled at 4:00 in the afternoon.
