CEBU CITY, Philippines– “Interesting, nice to be with, and a source of wisdom.”

This was how Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama described the late President Fidel V. Ramos (FVR).

In a virtual press conference on Tuesday, August2 , Rama recalled his personal encounters with FVR who died on Sunday, July 31.

“There have been several occasions that we have been together and there are times that we are seated side by side with each other. And even him giving me, when I was the Mayor, a book and he refer me as a warrior or lion,” Rama said.

Rama also recalled a time when he attended a gathering of Chinese guest wherein FVR was speaker and added that he used to visit the late President’s office in Makati City.

“It is just for me, the smile that he has always bring when you are with him is something that is contagious. And that kind of a smile, you have to be reminded of his patriotism, heroism, his being a nationalist,” the Mayor added.
