The Mandaue City Council has approved two ordinances that raised the financial assistance to both its senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) or differently-abled people.

The council added P1,000 to the P2,000 cash aid to senior citizens with the first half to be given in June and the other half in December.

From P500, PWDs registered with the Office of the Differently Abled Persons Affairs will receive P1,000 which they should avail of not later than December 25 every year.

Mandaue City Treasurer Regal Oliva said cash aid given to both senior citizens and PWDs will be given this week. In Lapu-Lapu City, senior citizens which number 10,000 will receive their P1,500 cash gift within this week.

Cash gifts will be given to centenarians by Mayor Paz Radaza, her daughter Lapu-Lapu City Rep. Aileen Radaza and the mayor’s husband former congressman Arturo Radaza.
