Pura Luka Vega is also persona non grata in Mandaue
The Mandaue City Council approved during its session on Tuesday, August 22, a resolution declaring Amadeus Fernando Pagente popularly known as Pura Luka Vega, persona non grata or “unwelcome person” in the city.
The resolution states that Vega’s ‘Ama Namin’ drag performance was highly offensive, disrespectful, and sacrilegious in nature and tantamount to a travesty of the Christian faith.
Vega, during one of his drag performances, dressed as Jesus Christ and performed a remix song of “Ama Namin”, which went viral and subsequently drew flak from religious groups.
Macho dancer lands in jail for failure to pay habal-habal fare
A macho dancer is now languishing in jail after he was arrested for failing to pay the fare of a motorcycle taxi or habal-habal in Barangay Cogon-Ramos, Cebu City.
The suspect was identified as Jerico Morino of Barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City.
Police said the suspect hired Jose Ruell Baguio, a habal-habal driver, to transport him from Barangay Cogon Ramos to Barangay Pasil and back. But the suspect reportedly failed to pay the fare amounting to 600 pesos when they arrived back at Barangay Cogon Ramos from Pasil.
This prompted the victim to seek assistance from barangay tanods who turned over the suspect to the Abellana police.
NBA: Knicks sue Raptors for stealing scouting reports, trade secrets
The New York Knicks sued rivals the Toronto Raptors in Manhattan on Monday. The Knicks accused the Raptors’ new coaching staff of hiring a “mole” who gave the team their scouting reports and other confidential materials.
The Knicks accused their former video, analytics, and player-development assistant Ikechukwu Azotam of stealing thousands of proprietary files and forwarding them to the Raptors.
Azotam left the team last week.
Representatives for the Raptors did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Construction worker jailed for stabbing woman he suspected as pickpocket, sex worker
A construction worker landed in jail after he was accused of stabbing a woman whom he suspected to have stolen his phone, and whom he believed was a sex worker.
Policemen at the Waterfront Police Station in Cebu City confirmed arresting a certain Arturo Garcia last Sunday, August 20.
Garcia, 44, allegedly stabbed a woman, whom he accused of trying to steal his phone while he was walking along Colon Street late Saturday evening, August 19.
