CEBU CITY, Philippines — A total of four exciting games will highlight the official start of Mandaue’s Pride Basketball Association (MPBA) Season 2: Cebuano Cup on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at the Cebu Port Authority (CPA) gymnasium.
Bannering the four games is the showdown between season one’s first-runners-up, the ARQ Builders that will take on the newcomers, Mitsubishi Motors at 7:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, the WJV-HP Real Estate Inc., one of the league’s mainstays will face another newcomer, Team Banilad-Luigi Bercede, in the opening game at 5:30 p.m.
Also, the Outlaws and HomeSourced will square off in the second game at 6:30 p.m., while M-Tech and Boss Macchiato will clash in the last game scheduled at 8:30 p.m.
A total of 20 teams signed up for MPBA’s Season 2 following its successful maiden season early this year with Truck N Trail winning the title.
Like in its the previous season, the league will still be divided into two conferences, the north and south. To ensure the quality of each game, organizers tapped the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) for the second time to supervise the games.
The rest of the competing teams in the MPBA Season 2: Cebuano Cup are the defending champions Truck N Trail, Void, Artera, PrayBoys, Monteroyo, AMP, JCDC Ballers, SteadFast Bldrs, Agalon’s Haulers, Rongcales, Darchys, and Team Subangdaku led by Ernie Manatad. / dcb
