UC Webmasters rack up 3 wins in Cesafi Esports League Season 2 Valorant competition

CEBU CITY, Philippines — The University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters flexed their winning form in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (Cesafi) Esports League (CEL) Season 2’s Valorant competition on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at the TNC Cebu. 

The Webmasters impressively won all their three scheduled matches in CEL’s newest addition, the first-person multiplayer tactical hero shooter Valorant.

UC Webmasters rout SWU Phinma Cobras, CEC Dragons

In their first match, the UC Webmasters defeated the Southwestern University Phinma Cobras, 13-9, behind Jhanel “Shinobi2k” Arranchado. He tallied 24 kills, 15 deaths, and two assists. 

The Webmasters went on to beat the Cebu Eastern College (CEC) Dragons, 13-5, with Cliff Bryan “Bryantam” Bengcolita who had 19-11-4 (kills-deaths-assists).

UC Webmasters scrape win against CIT-U Wildcats

Lastly, UC narrowly edged the Cebu Institute of Technology (CIT-U) Wildcats,14-12, to cap off their fruitful day in CEL’s Valorant tournament. 

Arranchado led UC anew in their win over the Wildcats with a 25-20-9 record. 

Despite losing to UC, CIT-U managed to grab two wins over the Cobras and CEC. They beat CEC first, 13-3, with Andre “fny” Villarosa leading them with 20-7-11 outing. 

Kyle “kyleeyu” Padilla shone in CIT-U’s second win over SWU-Phinma with his 20-10-6 stats. 

SWU-Phinma, eked out one victory on Sunday by beating CEC, 13-9, with Myco Angel “nezka” Villomo emerging as player of the game with his 22-15-8 performance.
