MANDAUE CITY, Cebu—Over 1,200 individuals were arrested by the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) during their anti-criminality operations from July to October this year.
This was reported to some members of the Cebu media on Thursday, November 10.
The report showed that the illegal drugs had the most number of arrested individuals at 542.
Next was illegal gambling at 508, 37 for loose firearms, and 173 wanted persons.
Around six kilos of illegal drugs with a standard value of P42 million were also confiscated.
Some of the biggest operations conducted were the confiscation of 1.085 grams of shabu worth P7.3 million on October 23, 1.065 grams of shabu worth P7.2 million on October 14, and a kilo of shabu worth P6.8 million last July 29.
MCPO Deputy City Director for Administration and Spokesperson Police Lieutenant Colonel Franco Rudolf Oriol on Thursday, Nov. 9, said that the arrested persons involved in illegal drugs were from Mandaue City and other neighboring cities.
One of the significant accomplishments of the police office was the rescue of the 8-year-old Filipina-Korean girl who was kidnapped in Barangay Bakilid last August and the arrest of the suspect.

Another accomplishment was the arrest of the number 1 most wanted person in the region for illegal drugs.
No crime incidents were also recorded related to the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) and “Kalag-Kalag“.
MCPO was also ranked first among the police offices in Region 7 with the highest evaluation rating in October with 159.16 points allocation.
MCPO Director Colonel Getigan attributed this to the programs being implemented that include police visibility among others. MCPO has 689 personnel.
Getigan said that community involvement also helped police solve crimes and the support of the city government and other law enforcement agencies.
