Red Coat Direct now available in Marriott Cebu

EVENT organizers may now access the Red Coat Direct application at the Cebu City Marriott Hotel.

The application has been available in international Marriott websites since last year. It was introduced by Marriott hotels in Southeast Asia only this year.

Patrick Carroll, Marriott hotel general manager, said the application will help event organizers manage their meetings, programs or exhibits in the hotel.

Red Coat Direct is available only to event organizers. It allows them to contact the Red Coat staff on call who can quickly and readily address any request or concern.

“The challenge (for event organizers) is that no matter how organized you are, there will always be last minute changes that’s beyond your control,” said Dolly Belo, people manager at Trax Technologies.

HOW IT WORKS

The application is easy to use.

Event organizers are sent an e-mail containing the download link to the application three days before their event at Marriott.

The link brings the user to the homepage of the app, where they can input their requests or orders to be received by the Red Coat staff on call.

There are four categories to choose from, namely, food and beverage; technical/audiovisual needs; meeting room; and temperature control.

These categories have several preset requests that the organizers can choose from and a section where they can input specific details or comments. A fifth section is labeled “Others” for requests not found in the previous four categories.

After clicking the “Send Request” button found at the bottom of the page, users simply have to wait for a response from the Red Coat staff.

The application, which is exclusive to Marriott hotels globally, can be used on any tablet or phone with Internet access.

Aside from Red Coat Direct, Marriott also has its Guest Services application, which allows guests to check into the hotel online.

There are only two Marriott hotels in the Philippines at present, one at the Cebu Business Park and another in Newport in Pasay.

Marriott International has over 3,800 hotels in around 80 countries.
