American in child abuse case hospitalized for depression
A 73-YEAR-OLD American detained on human trafficking and child abuse charges was admitted in a hospital in Cebu City.
Jonathan Anderson Buck is seeking treatment for depression.
¨He is going to see a psychiatrist while we´re here. He is very unhappy and lonely, so we´re not sure about what we´re going to do when he goes back,¨ said Buck´s Filipina wife Melanie.
Melanie said they wanted to stay longer in the hospital but the court only gave them seven days.
PO1 Moises Cunanan escorted Buck to Chong Hua Medical Hospital yesterday morning.
¨His stay is just for a general check up of health and for maintenance of his depression medication,” said a male nurse assigned to Buck.
Melanie said Buck has been suffering from various illnesses including a heart ailment.
The American was arrested last March after he was allegedly caught having oral sex with a 17-year-old boy inside his car in barangay San Vicente, Bogo City. /UP-CEBU INTERN Juli Ann M. Sibi
