NINE regions set up booths to showcase their tourism products and services during the International Travel Festival last weekend at the Ayala Center Cebu.

Rowena Montecillo, regional director of the Department of Tourism, said the participants were Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, MIMAROPA, Bicol, Zamboanga Peninsula, Central South Mindanao, CALABARZON, Caraga and Central Visayas.

“The number of participant regions has increased compared to last year,” she said.

This year’s festival was held in partnership with the Cebu provincial government and the Lapu-Lapu city government, which presented the Olango Bird Dance.

Lapu-Lapu Mayor Paz Radaza said they were promoting Lapu-Lapu as a historic city.

“We want Lapu-Lapu City to be known as home of world-class hotels and resorts and as a historical city.

That is why my administration created a city brand.

As you pass along our city streets, you will see colors like sky blue, golden yellow, persimmon orange and forest green. Those are our branding colors,” she said.
