GMR MEGAWIDE Cebu Airport Corp. (GMCAC), through its Dream Starters program, has helped fulfill the dreams of 60 elementary students and 30 faculty members from three different public schools in Lapu-Lapu City to tour the facilities of the Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) and board an aircraft.

Dream Starters is a monthly airport tour targeted for schoolchildren around the Mactan-Cebu airport community.
The three elementary schools that participated in the Dream Starters event held between July and August are: Basak Elementary School, Buaya Elementary School and Bankal Elementary School.

During the three-hour visit, students were able to enter inside a Cebu Pacific plane, which was among the highlights of the airport tour.

Hannah Shane Arguelles, a student of Buaya Elementary School said her most memorable experience was being inside an airplane. “It was my first time to see an airplane up close. I am so happy to even see it from inside,” she said.

For Adela Parsomala, a teacher of Basak Elementary School, she enjoyed being at the Airport Operations Control Center where all flights, both domestic and international, are monitored.

“I find it to be the most tangible station because it monitors the movements of the airplanes,” she added.

GMCAC is scheduled to conduct another airport tour this month.
