A CUSTOMER of a department store in downtown Cebu City was injured after the service firearm of the establishment’s security guard accidentally went off last Monday afternoon.

The customer who sustained  a minor injury left after the incident without filing a complaint.

Police said that before  the incident, security guard Alexander Cabanero Elma, 36, was arguing with  two men near the mall’s entrance.

It was not immediately known what the argument was about. A  fellow security guard took Elma’s shotgun. It was then that the gun went off.

A bullet splinter  hit the foot of a female customer.  No arrest was made. The security guard promised to cooperate in the police investigation.
